How difficult is it really to build an artificial AI that can operate on-par with a standard infantry soldier for standard combat duties?
I personally rate the combat effectiveness for an infantry for 200 meter to 300 meter combat aim-fire situation a 4 out of 9, while giving a 200 kg ground drone score 8.5 out of 9. With the cost chipped in, the infantry would be disqualified from examining. A standard average infantry had several disadvantages/flaws compared to drones:
- costs hamburgers, expensive supply upkeep, needs sleeping place, though don't need shower
- watched too many movies, relaxed not too little, doesn't want to engage in firefights
- flesh easily gets hurt by sharpels or all sorts of other objects, even by edge of a truck, by a sharp (a relative term) piece. One part of body scratched, whole body shuts down, gets reduced combat effectiveness
- complains a lot, thinks too much and may dessert or even betray, like surrendering to enemy or giving/selling intel to them
- doesn't work 24 hour shift
- doesn't like hot places, or places filled with toxic or bad air
- can't stand cold freezing temperature with giant a t-shirt
- emotionally sensitive to gory images or other fight scenes
- overly sympathy for enemy combatants and teammates
- family attachment, worries if family sends a sobbish message or letter
- listens to us because we pay them and also been edu-raised by us. This makes them exploitable by enemy if they manage to lure them with greater money. We should keep our ranks clean, void of spies to avoid this
- panic-y in unexpected turnouts or surprise incidents
- costs much to train, total cost equals to more than 20 ground rhino-class drones, if not more
- takes time to grow, lengthy training session, and still long if accelerated volunteer-level programs, as oppose to enlist program level
- disobeys officers, talks drunk or unclear, or ineffective performance on radio and what not
- poorer combat ability (the aim) than drone counterparts, also had problems remaining still for hours or weeks or months
- needs a washroom session within 12 hours, this can cause leakage of our soldier's profiles via DNA tracing by the enemies
- + much more
Overall, from this we see, the cost, long assembly-ready time and lower combat effectiveness/capabilities make the standard modern infantry soldier no longer fit for their duty. This position has become the drone's. And the modern infantry soldier had become obsolete and outdated, no longer so modern.
A powerful drone force, one of 2.4 billion total budget, a total of 14,000,000 - various land, air, sea, and amphibious pieces will wreck havoc across towers upon towers, and layers upon layers of defence grid however many the enemy forces put up. Not a single tank or anti-air vehicle can do anything of it by then, for the swarm is simply too many, and they are all rapid and fast hungry machines, ready to chew up metals and recycle them. Some will even find outlets, tell others to come recharge, line up and one by one fill up their batteries. Some class of drones will take fully that of a support role - act as power supply stations or command radio relay posts. Or even information catalogue posts - these wonderful babies of ours will pick up information pamphlets, read them and auto-coordinate and assemble into new teams together, fulfilling combat roles and outlining new combat missions, all by themselves~
By the time the enemies manage to adapt, they are already all in jail, awaiting their tribunal trials, muah hahahha, muah hahahhaha.
From drones, the borrowed power from the machines, we, shall, do, war.
Kindness, morals, righteousness will all be a thing of the past. Nothing will be able to beat the drones. These intelligent robots shall carve out a new order. From the sky, from the street window ahead, and from the underground, all will be conquested. There shall be no nations, or borders, but only and solely contested territories or borders in dispute.
( the author of this post in no way was trying to bait some readers into a bad place, a place of mad power and unstable influx of the mind ) ( enter the zone at your own risk, the power cords may be too strong to handle, for the lack of a better word)
